HUNTERVILLE W.D.F.U.

The monthly meeting of the Hunterville branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held .in the Presbyterian schoolroom last week, Mrs. Lloyd Hammond presiding. A motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mrs. Chisholm and Miss'Meads, of Rata, members standing in silence for a minute. Mrs. Boyne 'and Mrs. Harre were appointed tea delegates for three months. This month’s competition for “chocolate paper pictures” was won by Miss Morrison, with Miss Shackleton second. The competition for next month is to be “novelty Christmas, gift material,” costing not more than 2/6. The roll call is to be “the funny sayings Of children.” The Poukiore, Sil verhope and Hunterville Women’s Institutes are joining the W.D.F.U. in holding a sale of work for blind and disabled soldiers in the Scotts Hall on October 1. Each member is asked to bring two plates and admission is 6d. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Abel, Shackleton, Harre and Morrison. Mrs. Wickham gave a most interesting talk on “Child psychology and understanding human nature?’
