RICHARD CROOKS
’THERE is something about Richard X Crooks, the American ■ tenor, that has made a very strong claim on the affections of Australians., Wherever the big, genial fellow has gone he has been liked not only for the .beautiful voice that has enslaved thousands, but also for the human qualities that he reveals. His infectious smile, bluff personality and naturalness have made a big impression on Australians. His recitals have been crowded, and if music lovers had their way the distinguished visitor would be singing every night of the week. Messrs. J. and N. Tait have sponsored the tours of many famous people, but none so genially popular as this athletic-look-ing singer from the Stages. To say that he has created sensations in Melbourne and Sydney scarcely does justice to the extraordinary triumphs achieved by the world-famous tenor. His New Zealand tour is being anticipated with keenest enthusiasm.
