BETTING IN BRITAIN
Totalisator Returns Up (British Official Wireless.) (Received June 22, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, June 20. The turnover of the Racecourse Betting Control Board’s totalizators last year was £6,149,253, over £1,000,000 more than in 1934. Operating results of the year show a surplus of £261,009, or £99,029 more than in 1934. Out of the surplus the board made grants amounting to £78,838, including £72,438 for horse racing, £5300 for horse breeding, and £llOO for veterinary science.
