Steeples and May Hurdles

Fields for the second and concluding day of the Wanganui meeting, taking them all round, are better than on Saturday, and a feature is the presence of several fresh horses. Three in the May Hurdles and a like number in the Wanganui Steeplechase are fresh, and the latter event, with the acceptance of Forest Glow’, promises a closer contest than on Saturday. The weather conditions promise to hold, so that the track will again provide excellent going. The following horses may be supported in their engagements :— Purua Hack: Triune and Bantry. Belmont Handicap: Diatomous and Farmer.

Maj- Hurdles: Saltepray and Sporting Song. 9 Champion Hack: Hunting Queen and Supreme Court. Wanganui Steeplechase: Windsor Lad and Forest Glow.

Connolly Handicap: Hazoor and Velocipede. Farewell Hack: Landlubber and Night Spi. The card is as follows: —
