(Received June 21, 7 p.m.) Sydney, June 21.

News has reached Sydney of the death of Mr. W. J. Douglas, general manager of Fullers Theatres, Limited, which occurred in London while on a tour. Mr. Douglas formerly represented Fullers in Wellington, New Zealand.

He became ill in Berlin and was convoyed to England in an ambulance aeroplane piloted by Hans Bertram, one of the two German aviators who, when lost in Northern Australia some time ago, were rescued under sensational circumstances.

Mr. Douglas will be well remembered by many patrons of vaudeville and pictures under the Fuller management. Hie parents reside in Australia. His father was well known as a skilled maker of wax figures. The family came to Dunedin many years ago, and the late Mr. Douglas, who was a capable pianist, threw in his lot with the Fuller enterprises tn that city, later coming to Wellington, where he was associated first with the old Theatre Royal and subsequently with the Fuller cinema shows. He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Pearl Raeside, of Invercargill. An only brother was killed at the war. There are two sisters, one of whom married Mr. Brodie Mack, the artist.
