New Zealand Annual Meeting

The second annual general meeting of the New Zealand Table Tenn s Association was held last night, Mr. Malcolm Fraser presiding. The annual report, which was adopted, noted a greatly increased number of spectators at the New Zealand championships tournament, which was held in Wellington. Entries exceeded those of the 1J34 tournament, and despite the reduced entry fees for the several events, this item of revenue exceeded that of 1934. It was stated that experience had shown that either the period of the tournament should be extended or that the entries should be limited. It was decided to move toward the formation of an association in Canterbury. A motion was carried recommencing the management committee to consider the advisability of trying to arrange for outstanding Australian players to tour New Zealand, the committee to go into the question of ways and means. ’ It was decided to hold the next New Zealand champ.onships tournament in Wellington. Play will commence each day at 10 a.rn. if practicable. The New Villa ball was adopted as the ball for the New Zealand championships. It was agreed to add to the New Zealand championships tournament two additional events for juniors, under 18, as at August—a boys’ singles and a girls' The rules under which the game is played in New Zealand are to be the same as those adopted by the International Table Tennis Federation from time to time.
