Purcell, to Richard Charles Alexander, Wellington. The Rev. Father O’Donnell' performed the ceremony, after which solemn nuptial mass was celebrated. The church, which had been beautifully decorated with masses of pink and white chrysanthemums, by friends of the bride, made a pretty setting for the bridal party, whose frocking was carried out in cream and a delicate shade of pink. Mrs. J. Ryan presided at the organ. Escorted by her uncle, Mr. C. E. Purcell, the bride wore a gown of pearltinted chiffon velvet. The corsage was draped at the neck and waistline and finished at the back with tiny loops and buttons, while the long tight-tit-ting sleeves were slightly draped at the top. The skirt, cut on classical linos, was iinished with n court-length train. Iler hand-embroidered veil of allusion tulle, fell in folds over the train from a halo of pearls and orange blossom. An arm sheaf of cream roses, nerines and maidenhair fern was carried. The two maids,' Miss Vera Purcell, sister of the bride, and Miss Patricia Hunt, wore Victorian frocks of pink water-waved moire, with haloes of pink tulle and velvet Howers. Small buttons ran from neck to waistline on the tight-fitting bodices and the doublepuff sleeves were banded with velvet of a deeper shade. Two long bands of the same velvet fell from the waistline lo form a train. Quaint leaf muffs and long sprays of salmon-pink roses and maidenhair fern were carried. Mr. J. Gaynor was best man and Mr. P. F. Purcell was groomsman. After the ceremony, Mrs. Purcell received the guests at a reception at the Royal Oak Hotel, to which only relatives and intimate friends were invited. Mrs. Purcell wore a three-piece ensemble in black roiuaiu relieved with white georgette, and a shoulder-spray of pink carnations. When Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Alexander left, the latter wore a tailored norfolk suit of claret and white check, with a satin blouse and hat of a deeper shade.
