Court Interprets Points In Will NOTES FROM MANAWATU Dominion Special Service. I’almerslon North, May IG. An application for an interpretation of certain clauses in the will of Sven Andersen, deceased farmer, of Ormondville, was heard in the Palmerston North Supreme Court before Mr. Justice Ostler to-day. Plaintiff was Andrew Andersen, farmer, ol" Ormondville, executor of the estate of the late Nia Magretba Andersen, sole executrix of the estate of the late Sven Andersen. His Honour was asked to interpret two clauses, and in the first case be decided that a bequest to the widow was not an absolute interest, but a life estate. In the second ease he held that ambiguity of the word "living,” where it appeared, could be decided in favour. of all children living at the time of the original testator's death, and not that of bis widow. Feilding Hockey. The 1936 hockey season opened in Feilding this afternoon, in dull weather. In the men’s inter-club competition, Stars defeated Colyton A by two goals to one, and Colyton B defeated Swifts by three goals Io two. Playing in the women's interclub competition. During the course of the young farmers’ visit to Palmerston North yesterday, Mr. 11 J Lancaster, president of the Rongotea club, urged that field days should be am until fixtures, iu view of the wealth ot practical information so gained. He also urged that because of their instructive value young farmers’ clubs should be established throughout the Dominion. Red Cross Society.

The Automobile Association < Manawatu) recently wrote to the Commissioner of Transport objecting to the use of certain home-made trailers and caravauh. which were dangerously defective. At last, night’s meeting a letter was received rom the commissioner noting the objections, and advising that the whole question ol traffic- control was at present under Government consideration. J n tiie meantime, all traffic inspectors would be directed to watch for dangerously-constructed and faulty trailers. Harrier Club.

A letter was received at the monthly meeting of the Automobile Association (Manawatu) from the Opiki branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, asking the association to define its attitude jn regain to a project to approach the Minister ot Public Works for the construction of a bridge over the Mnnawiitu River a. Rangitane, and the definite selection of a site. It was not wished to prejudice the completion of No. 60 highway in any way. but to hasten preliminaries necessary for the bridge project.
