SKETCH—PATERSON. The engagement is announced of Mary Frances, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Morton Paterson, Wadestown, 'Wellington, to Ralph Mackern, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sketch, of London. England. “WELCOME BACK” PARTY Members of the Social Service Guild of the Wellington Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association, spent a pleasant evening recently at the S. P. Andrew studio, the occasion taking the form of a welcome back to their president, Mrs. W. O. Urquhart, who lias been visiting Australia. During the evening Mrs. Urquhart spoke about her travels and showed interesting snapshots. She expressed the hope that more members would attend Hie meetings as a bright programme had been arranged for the year, and stated that at the next- meeting Mrs. Martyu 'Williams would give a talk on Shakespearean plays. The Social Service Guild was doing good work and members were congratulated on their effort's. Supper was served by the committee.
