Gold Mining Returns By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, September 30. The Mataki return for the week ending September 29 was 46 ounces for 129 hours’ work. GilUespie's Beach Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., yesterday reported to the Stock Exchange Association a return of 40 ounces 13dwts. for 111 hours’ work last week. The following information has been rubied to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Wajhi), Limited: “No. 2 level: A total of 72ft. has been driven west on the Martha lode. The assay value is 7/- a lon. The width of the reef at the face is about sft. No. 3 level: On the vein situated at. 50ft. in the north crosscut from the Martha gangway driving west the next 41ft. is ore of good grade, varying from one to three feet wide. Driving east the next 16ft. is also of good grade, the width of the lode being about Sift. No. 7 level: The prospecting crosscut north-west from the north branch of the Martha lode at 165 ft. in has intersected a vein 3ft. wide, assaying 29/6 a ton. The course is 48 degrees (true) and the dip 1 in 24 north. No. 12 level: Edward lode: Driving south the next 31ft. assays -1/6 a ton. The lode was crosscut at 500 ft., and measuring from the east wall the first sft. assays 1/9 a ton. The next Oft. 22/- a ton and tho last 3ft. 5/3 a ion.’!
