Silver Cross For Gallantry

Charles John Cook, aged 14, a member of tbe Claudelands Boy Scout Troop, has b.een awarded the Silver Cross for Gallantry by the Dominion Council of the Boy Scout Association. Cook, who also received the Royal Humane Society’s certificate, swam in all 600 yards in a treacherous sea to rescue a boy, Bruce Rennie, at Cheltenham Beach, Auckland, on January 31.
