CAR STRIKES POLE

Two Persons Hurt and Power Line Broken

A motor-ear ran into an electric light pole at Miramar early yesterday morning, and as a result power in a portion of the district was cut off for nearly half an hour. Two persons were injured and were taken to hospital by the Wellington Free Ambulance.

The accident happened in Aberdeen Quay, where Mrs. C. 11. Armstrong, of 25 Watt Street, Wadestown, was being ‘taught to drive the car ‘by Mr. J. Tweddell, salesman, of 64 Roseneath Crescent. Mrs. Armstrong received face injuries and Mr. Tweddell injuries to the face and left arm. The car was badly damaged. The collision broke one of the power lines. Another circuit was brought into operation soon afterward, and the damage to the pole and line was repaired yesterday afternoon.
