Australian Loan Success
London, July 24.
It is understood that a large percentage of the subscriptions for the Commonwealth redemption and conversion loan of £13.4(19.981, which was over-subscribed yesterday, came from batiks, insurance companies, and other business concerns. Consequently less difficulty than usual is expected from “stagging.” The Australian High Commissioner. Mr. Stanley Bruce, is gratified at tiie success of the loan.
After . several months of disturbed conditions the market augurs well for subsequent operations.
