The National Wealth
Sir, —The League regrets that it did “Democrat” an injustice in accusing him of misquotation. The national wealth, we believe, is measured by the aggregate wealth of the citizens, plus, of course, any Crown or public body property and enterprises. This was the definition conveyed in the original letter if taken as a whole. On referring to tlie “N.Z. Year. Book” we find that tlie Government statistician estimates the national wealth on this basis and we venture to assert that it is correct to do so.— We are. etc.. N.Z. WELFARE LEAGUE. Wellington, July 24.
