Sir, —Only five years ago the first New Zealander flew from England to Australia, taking witli him another New Zealander as co-pilot. He accomplished liis flight in the face of almost unbelievable difficulties and bad luck. When he reached New Zealand he was feted and acclaimed from end to end of the country. Now be is not even mentioned in the li.*’t of 90 post-war New Zealand pilots who have served in the R.A.F.. published in “The Dominion” on July 15. Need I name him? Flying Officer 11. L. Piper.
