Subscription List Opened

W.D.F.U. GIVES £lO/10/-

At the request, of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. “The Dominion” has opened a subscription list on behalf of the Cowdrey family, whose home on the Hal-conibe-Stanway Road, near Feilding, was destroyed by a gelignite explosion on July 12. The division has started the list with a donation of £lO/10/-. At a meeting of the Bush Nurse ami Housekeeper Auxiliary of the division in 'Wellington on July 16 a resolution was passed urging that headquarters of the union should make a donation to assist the Cowdrey family, that a list be opened through “The Dominion, and that a district committee be responsible for Ihe distribution of the money, the Women's Division and Farmers’ Union to be represented on that committee. Mr. Frank Cowdrey, whose wife and four little children, and another adult were injured in the explosion, is a bard working man, and besides attending to his own farm, does outside work for neighbouring farmers when it is available. It is stated he has heavy liabilities to meet on liis pro|>erty. Additional subscriptions will be acknowledged in “The Dominion.'’
