Bank Clerks Stage a Wheelbarrow Race SUM OF £llO COLLECTED By Telegraph. —Press Association. Christchurch, July 21. The bank stalls to-day held a wheelbarrow race in the centre of the city t.> raise funds for the queen carnival to relieve distress. All the passengers in the barrows were Christchurch bank managers. A crowd of thousands thronged the short street where the race was held and members of tlie bankstaffs, mostly in fancy dress, collected £llO.
