Visitors From New York The executive of the English Speaking Union yesterday entertained at tea, in the Palm Lounge of the Hotel St. George, Dr. F. P. Keppel, president of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, and Mrs. Keppel. Mr. H. G. Miller, in welcoming the visitors to Wellington, said it was a matter for regret that their visit was so short and so hurried that it had been impossible to make it a general gathering and thus give members the privilege of meeting them.
Those present included Mr. and Mrs. Bucklin, Miss E. Al. Black, Mrs. Preston, Mrs. Bennie, Mrs. Carler, Mrs. Claridge, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. 11. 1). Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. 0. Benge, Miss Reith (London), Mrs. Lepper (Melbourne), Dr. Beaumont, Mr. A. Leigh Hunt, Mr. A. Gibbs, and the secretary, Miss Z. Mason.
