REWARD FOR CAPTURE OF PIRATE CHIEF
Troops Sent to Bias Bay STRENUOUS EFFORTS BEING MADE By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received February 5, 8.30 p.m.) Hong-Kong, February 5 The Canton Government has offered a reward of 5000 dollars and the owners of the Tungchow, the vessel which was in the hands of the pirates for thrce v days last week, 2500 dollars for the capture of the pirate chief. The Canton authorities sent a regiment of troops to the Bias Bay area from Waichow and other troops from Canton are also taking active and strenuous measures for the apprehension of the pirates. Special orders have been given to magistrates and troops in the area. Meanwhile it is learned that 11.M.5. Decoy, which has returned to HongKong, landed a number of Chinese troops in the Swabue area.
