At an informal ceremony yesterday General Sir Alexander Godley placed a! wreath on the War Memorial Cenotaph. After standing for a minute with bowed head Sir Alexander, with others present, inspected the interior of the Cenotaph. The wreath, which was oval in shape, with Flanders poppies at either end on a background of black leaves, bore the inscription: "A tribute from General Sir Alexander and Lady Godley, Wellington, February 5, 1035.”
