WHEAT EXPORT PRICES

Conference in London (British Official Wireless.) (Received May 8. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, May 7 The views of the Governments <>t wheat exporting countries on the scheme recommended by the fryernational Wheat Advisory Committee that the signatories of the London Wheat Agreement should adopt minimum export prices, were expressed at a conference of representatives of 21 interested countries which opened today at the Board of Trade, under the chairmanship of the American Ambassador. Mr. R. W. Bingham. No figures of minimum export prices have so far been drawn up. If the principle is adopted the working out of such prices will probably be referred to a sub-committee of experts, who would frame a schedule for variations and qualities of wheat, and would move the figures up and down from time to time in accordance with the quotas. During to-day’s discussions many of the delegates expressed the view that they eould take a decision on the minimum price scheme more satisfactorily if the problem of establishing price differentials and f.o.b. and c.i.f. prices was further explored. The conference therefore set up a technical sub-com-mittee to work out a tentative first scale under the agreement with Mr. Cairns, secretary of the advisory committee. as chairman. The conference will resume on Wednesday, when it is hoped that the subcommittee's report will be ready.
