AGREEMENT SIGNED
Rubber Regulation Plan (British Official Wireless.) (Received May 8. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, May 7. The iuter-governineutal agreement to give effect to the rubber regulation scheme was signed at the Foreign Office tliis afternon by representatives of tlie Governments of France, tlie United Kingdom. India, tlie Netherlands and Siam Tlie Colonial Secretary. Sir Philip Cnnliffe-Lister. in the House of Commons. stated that consuming interests would themselves lie invited to nominate an advisory panel to advise the international committee which is to control the rubber regulation scheme, to ensure fulfilment of the conditions In id down by tlie World Economic Conference that the willing eo-opeia-tion of consuming interests must be secured in the working of the scheme. Asked whether lie had yet received representations from the United States, the Minister said that they had had a good deal of discussion with the United States before the scheme came out _____
