SHAW TO BROADCAST FROM 2YA

Reply to Telegram Sent by “The Dominion” QUESTION OF SUBMITTING TEXT FOR APPROVAL Arrangements have been made by the Broadcasting Board for Mr. George Bernard Shaw to speak for approximately 20 minutes from station 2YA next Thursday night, the broadcast to commence at 10 o’clock. It will be relayed by all the YA stations, and it is probable that arrangements will oe made to have the broadcast relayed lo Australia. Last evening, "The Dominion” endeavoured lo get into touch with Mr. Shaw by telephone at Kaikoura, where he was staying at the Adelphi Hotel. When connection was made, the reply was that strict instructions had been given that Mr. Shaw was not to be disturbed. A telegram was then dispatched, reading as follows: — Do you intend to submit text of your radio address to Broadcasting Board for its approval? A reply came back, worded as follows :— The question lias not arisen, but I should have no objection if I could foresee what I shall say.— Shaw. Mr. Shaw stayed last night in Kaikoura, where he will remain to-day, continuing his journey to Christchurch during the week-end. He will leave New Zealand by the Rangitane on Friday next.
