COUNCIL THANKED

Grateful Relief Workers VISIT TO WELLINGTON Dominion Special Service. Marton, April 6. As a result of representations made by the Rangitikei County Council the Railway Department granted a big concession in fares to married relief workers who desired to visit their homes in Wellington during Easter. Over 40 such men who are working in camps in Raugitikei took advantage, of the offer, and at to-day’s meeting of the council three appreciative letters were received from workers. Mr. J. A. Rattray wrote on behalf of the men in one camp expressing appreciation of the action. “I should also like,” he wrote, “to mention how much we appreciate the kindly interest taken in all matters pertaining to our comfort.” "Your action we appreciate very much,” wrote Mr. J. C. Barnes on behalf of the workers in another camp. “We will never forget your many kindnesses,” stated the third letter, from Mr. A. Mayor, who wrote on behalf of the third camp. He thanked the council for the kindness and consideration shown for the welfare and comfort of the mon. “I am sure words of mine,” he added, “will not adequately convey our gratitude; but I am convinced that we will show appreciation in deeds.”
