WINNER OF £2000
Dunedin Man’s Good Fortune Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, April 6. It is doubtful whether there was a more delighted young man in Dunedin to-night than Mr. Ron Cusack when he was informed by an "Otago Daily Tinies” reporter that he bad won £2OOO in a Tattersall’s sweepstake. Mr. Cusack, who is a linotype operator employer in the “New Zealand Tablet” office, was enjoying a game of cards at tlie time at the Hibernian Social Club at Cargill’s Corner and when told of his good fortune immediately rushed into the card-room and cried. “Boys. I’ve struck Tatts for £2000.” The only response for a moment was an incredulous silence, but when it was impressed on his friends that he was in earnest congratulations came thick and fast. Tlie lucky ticket, which was signed "R.H.8.C., care ‘Tablet’ Office. Dunedin.” was the first that Mr. Cusack had ever taken alone, although on various occasions he has taken a share in one and, as' he told the reporter, “I usually have my half-crown in New Zealand art unions.”
It was only this afternoon that he was discussing with his workmates what he would do it he won some money in Tattersall’s, but he little thought that within a few hours his dream would have been realised. “I must go and tell my lady friend.’ were bis parting words as the reporter left him.
