Athletic Cup Contest During the last few- day§ the inter! form competition for, the Avery Cup has been in progress at Rongotai College, and it has been marked not only by excellent individual results, but by a splendid exhibition of school spirit. The competition was run along novel lines, involving the participation of every boy in at least one event, and of no boy in more than three events, no handicapping, the “placing” of all competitors and the awarding of points on a graduated scale to all contestants, provision being made for the differences in numbers in forms. There were seven events—loo, 220, 330, 440, 880 yards, high jump, long jump—and the competition was run off in sections of the school—first forms, seconds, thirds, fourths, fifths, and sixth. The following are the results:—Form lIIc, 71.60. 1; form Va, 69.33, 2; form Ic, 69.08, 3. Other scores were:—lib, 68.21; IVa, 66.95; VR. 65.79; Sh. 111, 63.93; I'b, 59.33; Vb, 59.27; Hla, 56.00; IVR, 52.40; la, 51.46; Hlb, 50.30; IVb, 48.05; Ila, 47.20; VI, 40.07.
