GARDEN CIRCLE’S VISIT
Mrs. Knox Gilmer at Home The garden circle of the Pioneer Club was entertained on Tuesday afternoon by Mrs. Knox Gilmer at Akatarawa, when a large number of members went out’ by car and bus. The decorations in t<he big sitting-room were done entirely with pansies sent out by Mrs. George Clark. Miss Mary and Miss Jean Knox Gilmer and Miss Neylon helped with the afternoon tea, which' was served from a table on which were lloating-bowls of the exquisite blooms. The garden, with its marvellous show of irises, was much admired, and the guests wandered about enjoying the' perfect day in beautiful surroundings. Mrs. Fisher, president of the circle, thanked .Mi's. Knox Gilmer on behalf of all present for the delightful afternoon. She and Miss Cooper, vice-presi-dent, were in charge of the arrangements for the visit. x
On the way home the party called by invitation at Mrs. Macarthy Reid’s residence, where a tour was made of another of the beautiful gardens in the Hutt Valley.
