CHRISTMAS CRICKET
Mercantile League Plans At Inst evening's meeting of tbe management committee of tbe Wellington Mercantile Cricket League arrangements were discussed in connection with Christmas representative cricket. It was decided to postpone all club club games on December 23 and December 30. and to resume the competitions on January 6. A match is to be held between the representative side to play at Auckland and the side to meet the Hutt Valley Cricket Association representatives at Kelburn Park on December 23. All the players selected for the big fixtures are expected to attend for this particular match, which will commence at 2 p.m.. and will continue until 6.30 p.m.. in; stead of the usual hours. 2.15 p.in. to 6.15 p.m. Owing to the inability of W. Crisp to travel, C. Hooper (Customs A) has been selected as twelfth man for the representative team to travel to Auckland. This side will practice at Kelburn Park next Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Owing to a number of players not being available for the match with Hutt Valley the following eighteen are invited ‘o practice at Kilbirnie on Thursday, at. 5 p.m.. with a view to selection:—Gridley (Hannahs Warehouse). Young (Customs B). Bait (Empire Boy). Meade (Gas Co.), Buscoe (Cowans), Blundell (Empire Box). Cameron (Gas Co.). Miiigate I Boss and Glendining), Moore (Biug, Harris), Mouat (Pensions), Torrington fTaubmans). Pringle < Nivens).-Reynolds (Taylor-Phoenix), Mclver (Combined Insurance), Swain (Milk Department). Bran -(Labour Department). Johnson (Customs A), and Norris (Printing A).
