ECHO OF COLLISION
Claim by Woman Cyclist PLAINTIFF NONSUITED Dominion Special Service. Carterton, December 1. An echo of a collision ou May II last between a bicycle ridden by Miss E. M. Boustead and a motor-lorry driven by Mr. A. C. Abbott was heard in the Carterton Magistrate's Court yesterday be fore Mr J. Miller, S.M., when the cyclist wlio suffered a fractured collarbone ns the result of the accident, made a claim for £39/19/11 against Mr Abbott. It was alleged that the accident was due to negligence on the part of the motor-drivci. After hearing the evidence, the magistrate said he was satisfied the accident occurred after lighting-up time, and Uie cyclist should have had a light functioning. There was probably some confusion caused by a motor-car behind the cyclist approaching with lights, and a vehicle ahead with lights. Defendant could not have seen pinintiff. Plaintiff was nonsuited on her claim, and was ordered to pay costs amounting to £3/3/-.
