TO TOUR DOMINION

Australian Tennis Players CHAMPIONSHIP PROSPECTS Arrangements have now been completed for the visit to New Zealand in December and January next of a team of women players from Australia, savs the quarterly report submitted to this week's meeting of the coucil of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. The team will consist of Misses Lloyd (captain and manager), Bickerton, Hall, Valkenburg, and Dingle, and they will take part in the New Zealand championships. A tour of New Zealand will also be made, and the itinerary is now being gone into. As far as practicable visits will be made to centres where the recent men’s teams were unable to play at. Unfortunately, however, it is regretted that some centres may not be visited owing to the fact that time will permit only of a limited amount of travelling to be done without Imposing too great a hardship and strain on the members of the team.

In conjunction with the Auckland association it has been arranged to invite Sproule and Donohoe (Australian representative players) to visit New Zealand and play a series of matches tn the Auckland province. They will, however, first of all take part in the New Zealand championships. As E. D. Andrews is again paying a visit to the Dominion, the standard of play at the championships to be held this year should be of a very high order and competition very keen.
