Bridge Evening at Hutt

A pleasant bridge evening wag given by Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman at their residence, Totara Crescent, Lower Hutt, the occasion being a farewell party to Mr. and Mrs. V. Howell, who are leaving the district in order to take up farming in Taranaki. The hostess was wearing a frock of wlne-colour.ed velvet, with bridge coat to tone, and Mrs. Howell was in a charming dress of rose krinkle crepe. The drawing-room looked bright and gay with irises and Iceland poppies. Prizes were .won by Miss Featonby and Mr. J. Wolfe. Opportunity was taken to toast the guests of honour and wish them happiness and prosperity in their new venture. Among those present were: Mesdames Dunne. Devlin, and Wolfe, Messrs. Devlin, Pope, and Gregory.
