Raine —Phear A quiet wedding took place at the Collegiate School Chapel in AVanganui on Saturday, when the marriage was solemnised of Thomas, youngest son of Air. and Airs. C. N. Raine, “Holmfield,” Wanganui, and Gwendolyn© Barbara, only daughter of Air. and Airs. G. Ashleigh Phear, Lower Hutt. The chapel was artistically decorated with pink cherry blossom and arum lilies, and the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. H. AV. Austin. The bride, who entered with her mother, wore a charming gown of white crinkled organdie, cut on A ictorian lines, with epaulette sleeves and a short train. She wore dainty silkmittens with tiny frills, and her veil, loaned by an old family friend, was held in place by a circlet of orange blossoms. The Victorian posy was composed of lilies of the valley, azalea and pink cyclamen. The bride was attended by Aliss Marjory Hardcastle, Lower Hutt, wearing primrose organdie and large picture hat, also of organdie, and carrying a posy of primrose shaded flowers. Mr. Ted Wright, Wanganui, acted as best man. A reception was held after the ceremony at “Holmfield.” Airs. Raine received her guests wearing black lace and georgette over pale pink, and carrying a posy in petunia shades. _ Airs. Phear wore black and white crinkled organdie and a black picture hat of soft straw with white organdie bow. Her posy was of lilac. AVhen Air. and Airs. Raine left, the latter wore a swagger suit of grey tweed and small fez hat to match.
