SKID AFTER BURST TIRE
(Received October 13, 8 p.m.)
Melbourne, October 13.
A service car containing 13 women passengers, mostly for Canberra, struck a concrete culvert near Wallan, overturned and caught fire. AU the passengers were extricated before the flames readied them.
Eight women were injured, the majority receiving broken bones. The remainder were all severely shaken, while the driver received facial injuries. The accident was due to the bursting of a tire, this causing the vehicle to swerve and strike the culvert with terrific force.
