Lives Lost in Hurricane
ONE BOATLOAD RESCUED

Twenty-one lives were lost when the Greek steamer Annoula sank in a hurricane off the North Carolina coast on Saturday .last. Five survivors reported this to-day after landing from the rescue vessel.
Captain George Couvielos and four members of his crew in a lifeboat were picked up on Sunday by the steamer Montello 110 miles north-west of Bermuda after drifting 60 miles.
Captain Couvielos said he called the radio operator on Saturday morning to sefid an S.O.S. when mountainous waves swept over the ship, throwing him into the sea, where he and two others were picked up by two sailors who managed to get one of the ship’s lifeboats. All others of the crew were drowned.
