SOCIAL AND DANCE
English-Speaking Union
An enjoyable and well-attended’ social and dance, arranged for young people by the English-speaking Union executive, was held at the Pharmacy Halt Cambridge Terrace, last evening.
The supper tables had been beautifully decorated with Iceland poppies by Aliss Black, while orange and green streamers gave the hall a very gay appearance. Comfortable armchairs were arranged in one corner, which served as a lounge.
A pleasant diversion in the dance programme, music for which was supplied by a panatrope, was provided by songs given by Aliss Marjorie Bennie, accompanied by Aliss Aluriel Turner, and Mr. Benge.
Members of the executive committee present were: Air. and Airs. Benge, Mrs. Carter. Aliss Anseombe. Airs. Bennie. Airs. Preston, Air. and Mrs. Daniel. Airs. Cable, Mr. and Mrs. Ffltch, and Airs. Knowles (honorary secretary).
