Cricket material, said Mr. Wanklyn, was imported from England in the finished condition, and the charges on bats Imported from England, including an ad valorem charge of 10 per cent, and a duty of 25 per cent., were so high that, a bat costing £l/10/- in England would cost £3/5/- in New Zealand.
