Pahiatua Flower Show DECREASE IN ENTRIES Dominion Special Service. Pahiatua, September 14. Blooms of a good quality were exhibited at the tenth annual bulb and spring flower show, conducted by St, Peter's Anglican Church, in the Foresters’ HallProbably due to the show clashing with the national daffodil show and the Woodville Show, the entries wore not as large as In previous years t but nevertheless ‘.he standard of the exhibits was well maintained. The champion blooms were six trumpet daffodils, shown by the Rev. C. H- leakson, of Greytown. The St. Peter’s Challenge Shield, for the most points In the narcissi sections, was won by Mrs. R. T. Adams, with 86 pointe, the Rev. C. H. Isakson being runner-up with 28 points. Mrs. Adams also annexed the Kelsey Silver Vase for the most points in sections for blooms other than narcissi, with 30 pointe. Mr. H.’Styles was runner-up with 20 points. The points prize in the floral decorative section, the Hodd Indian Vase, was won by Mrs. W. E. 0. Tylee,/with 11 points, Mrs, R, T. Adams, Mrs. J. G. Green and Miss C. J. Whitcombe being equal for second place. Miss A. Mi Godfrey carried off the Tylee .Cup for most points in the needlework class, with 13 points, the runuer-up being Mrs. T, Bason, with seven points. The judges were ns follow: —Narcissi classes, Mr. J. A. Nicholas, Woodville; other blooms, Mr. J. D. Wilson; floral decorative, Mrs. G. L. Hartridge, Woodville; needlework, Miss J. Kirkpatrick, Woodville. The show was opened by the mayor, Mr. J. D. Wilson, who complimented the church committee on keeping the flower show in existence, and expressed the hope that it would have increased success. Bulb Blonme.—Mrs. R- T. Adams. 2 firsts. 2 seconds: H. Styles, 3 firsts; A. W, White. 2 firsts, 1 second. 1 third; Mrs. A. W. Whits, 1 first; J. Byrne, Miss E. Taylor, Mrs. G. W. Chatwin. Mrs. W. D.
