PITCHES ALLOCATED

Cricket at Lower Hutt All applications for cricket pitches for the coming season have been supplied by the parks committee of the Lower Hutt Borough Council, in spite of the fact that the Recreation Ground will not be available until January of next year. The Hutt District Cricket Club was allocated six wickets at Hutt Park, the Waiwetu Cricket Club two wickets and the Hutt Valley Cricket Association 'two wickets at Trafalgar Park, and the Bell Block Cricket Club and the Hutt Valley Cricket Association each one wicket at Bell Reserve. Regarding practice wickets for the Hutt Cricket Club, the committee reports that permission has been obtained from the Hutt Valley nigh School authorities for these he allocated on their sports ground. This, the committee believes, will be highly satisfactory to the cricketers,. as the grounds are not far removed from the Recreation Ground.
