SHEEP-DOG TRIALS

Northern Championships Taihape, June 10. The North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association’s championship trials, which commenced at Moawhango on June 0. owing to the large number of entries will not conclude until to-morrow. Class 11, short head and yarding, was finally disposed of last evening, there being 60 entries to be judged by Mr. A. Anderson, Te Karaka, Gisborne. The result was as follows :—W. Whyte’s (Napier) Boy. 56j points, 1; M. Wilton's (Masterton) Lad, 55 points, 2; J. S. Tait's (Dannevirke) Daylight, 54.1 points, 3; 11. Harris’s (Koeki) Kep, 54 points, 4 ; E. Siddle’s (Mataroa) Boy, 531 points, The W. 11. Gnisford Challenge Cup, for dog scoring most points in Classes 1 and 2 for two years in succession or three years at intervals, was won by M. Whyte (Napier). The James Lillico Shield, for the dog showing the best, style in ring and yard in Classes 1 and 2, went to E. Siddle (Mataroa).
