AMATEUR BOXING
Tourney at Masterton Masterton, June 11. Boxers from various parts of the Wairarapa were seen in action in the Dixon Street. Gymnasium on Saturday evening nt. ah amateur tournament organised by the Masterton Boxing Club. There was a good attendance of spectators, who were treated to some fast and interesting bouts. The third man in the ring was Mr. I’. Coleman, and Messrs. E. Carrig and G. Barr acted ns judges. Mr. J. Hcrcock was the announcer. The results of the various bouts are as follow:—B. Taplin (Carterton), 10.8, bent J. Peters (Knituna), 10.8: F. Murphy (St. Patrick's). 9.3. beat B. Hannan (Masterton), 8.6: A. McKay (Knituna), 8.6, beat R. Daube (Masterton), 8.6; F. Elaws (Greytown), 11.5. beat A. Hurst (Masterton) ; H. Fulton (Masterton), 5.0, beat B. Johns (Masterton), 5.6; D. Palmer (Masterton). 8.4, drew with G. Benge. 8.4; J. McKay (Knituna), 9.2, beat. F. Milne (Masterton}, 8.6; J. Cndwallader (Greytown), ,7.13. and W. Young (Greytown), 8.6, fought an interesting no-decision Bout. Owing to the non-appearance of Wol-lin-ton boxers, who were supposed to bo taking part, 11. Ratner (Masterton) and T. McCord (Masterton) fought a fouricund exhibition bout.
