JOHN BROWNLEE TO-NIGHT
To-night, at the Town Hall, Wellington will have the pleasure of hearing the eminent buritone, John ISrownlec, sms with the orchestral accompaniments ot the Wellington Symphony Orchestra. Tills will be the final appearance of Mr. Brownlee in Wellington, for the baritone has already extended his stay in the Dominion to twice its original length, and, because of bookings elsewhere, no further extensions can be arranged. A wonderful programme has been prepared for tonight. and the operatic arias which Mr. Brownlee will sing with the Symphony Orchestra will be: —“O, Star of Eve (from “Tannhauser”) ; “'So. Sir Page (from “The Marriage of Figaro”); and The Prologue from “I Pagli'acci.” The brilliant pianist, Mr. Raymond Lambert, who made such a splendid impression nt the Brownlee concerts, will play the Grieg Concerto with the full orchestra. Under the conductorship of Mr. Leon de Mauny, the Symphony Orchestra will play the “Rienzi” overture, (he “Jupiter ’ Symphony (Moznrt). the Coronation March from “I/o Prophete.” nnd “A Shropshire Lad.” For the convenience of patrons, annotated programmes will be available to-day nt the Bristol. Begg's, and Ernest Dawson's.
