Match Against Taxi-men A friendly match was played at Anderson Park yesterday between teams from 11.M.5. Veronica rind Diamond Giibs, and resulted in a win for the taxi men by 53 runs. Diamond Cabs, batting first, put up a score of 177 (Darrocli 28. Denton 21. Marshall 20, 11. Potter 18. aud Lauchlin 14). ■ The Veronica replied with 1-4 runs (XYisbey 38, Webber 33, Cossar 14. and Noble 12). Bowling for the Diamonds, Lauchlin secured the line average of eight wickets for 18 runs, and Dnrroch took two for IS, while, for Veronica . Cossar secured four for 42, Chamberlain three for 24, and Johnston two for 22.
