gj r , ft was very kind of 'Mr. Forbes to spring that surprise of his on the public a few weeks before Christmas—nameiv, that next year was going to be the worst in the history of New Zealand. He and bis colleagues have been talking "around the corner” for some time, and business had been picking up, but now well, things are getting worse than ever they were. At any rate. Mr. Forbes and his'friends can thank themselves tor causing more unemployment, as they have “busted” business so much that we shall have to reduce our staff and reduce the wages of the remainder to award level. I might state that with that "around the corner” talk of Mr. Forbes and his friends, business had busked up that much that we were contemplating increasing our staff. However, now—well, enough is said already—how about a “Business Man’s Relief Act” for a change. Give the farmers a rest. —I am.. 'WELLINGTON BUSINESS MAN.
