NATIONAL RESERVE
Wadestown Branch About twenty-five members of the IVadestown branch of the Women's National Reserve were present at the annual meeting on Thursday, when, ‘-hey were the guests of Mrs. E. C. Rowe at her beautiful home in Cecil Road. The report showed that the branch had raised during the year by bridge parties, coin afternoons, and competitions, a sum of £44. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mrs. A. R. Otway ; secretary, Miss Hall; treasurer, Mrs. Thomson; committee, Mesdames E. C. Rowe. S. Brice, W. B. McKenzie. E. Johnston, S. D. Waters, S. D. Pope, and R. J. Booth, and Misses Davy and Banks. Following the formal business, Mrs. Guthrie gave an interesting account of the work of the welfare branch of the W.N.R. in connection with the mental hospital. A. mystery competition was both interesting and amusing. Mrs. T. Lisle sang an aria from “Mignon,” and the “'Willow Song,” Mrs. E, Wiuiams playing tlio accompaniments. Mrs. Hartshorn gave an amusing sketch. The “Puck" given by Mrs. J. p. Firth was non by Mrs. Harre. A delicious afternoon lea provided by members of the committee was served. Mrs. Rowe’s beautiful garden was much admired by members, most of whom accepted Mr. A. George’s invitation to visit his adjoining grounds and garden, which was much appreciated.
