The professional wrestling contest held in the Town Hall on Saturday evening between George Walker and Dean Detton was one of the brightest of the season. Walker won at the end of the sixth round, Detton being unable to continue after being thrown several times with side headlocks, and then slammed. MAMOS BEATS ELLIOTT loser’s Dive Through Ropes By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, i Nov. 20. In a wrestling bout last evening Harry Mamos defeated King Elliott by two falls to one. Elliott secured the initial fall within a few seconds of the opening of the bout, bowling Mamos over three times in succession with flying tackles and securing the fall with a body press. ' In the fourth round Mamos equalised when he dumped Elliott after an aeroplane spin. The end came in the sixth round. Elliott, attempting the flying tackle, dived through the ropes and was so dazed that he was counted out.
