Himatangi-Sandon Highway
Sir, —Referring to the Sandon-Hima-tangi-Foxton main highway, particularly the metalled portion from Himatangi to Sandon, I would like to draw the attention of those in authority to the state of the road. I motored along the road from Wellington to Wanganui and return, over the Labour week-end, and I can truthfully say it is Quite the worst piece of highway I have ever travelled on. The corrugations are so large and numerous that the car was nearly swung off the road several times, and it is positively dangerous. As the road is a main highway it is high time the Highway Board got busy and engaged a few hundred of the unemployed to bitumen the road. —I am. etc., BROKEN SPRINGS. Wellington, October 25.
