Mid-week Pennant Play GIFTS FOR PLIMMERTON The first competitive bowls in the AVellington Centre events were played on AVeduesday. The meeting between Karori and Newtown resulted in a win for Karori by six points, the scores being as follow (Karori names first) : —Lowe. Burrow, Gapes, Burn 20, Culley. Chegwiddcn, Barker, Warwipk 24; Suulcy, Dunbar. Grant, Cooper 22, AVhite Bicnkinsop, Porter, J. Pollock 12. A mid-week match was played between the Hutt Bowling Club aud the Khandallah Bowling Club at Lower Hutt on AVeduesday, Hutt won on points. The results are as follow (the Hutt club being mentioned first) :—Moore. McDougal, Murphy, Shearer 31. Jeffery. Rodger, Rourke. Burt. 9; Muter. Brooks. Cole, AVhiting 17, Portcous, McKay, AA’right, Nalder 19. Eastbourne won the mid-week pennant match against Thorndou by four points* on the aggregate. The scores were (Eastbourne names first) :—Naismith. Hutchings, Goldiug, Card 19; Stewart, Mowbray, White, Gibson, 13; Rockstrow, Pilcher, Fendall, Thompson, 20; Perry, McLaurin Hardie, Johnston, 22. The executive of Plimmerton Bowling Club had some pleasing news at its meeting on Monday, when the chairman. Mr. E. J. Stephens, reported that Mr. J. AV. Bramwell had'donated two debentures of the value of £lO to the club, and Mr. G. H. Neale and Mr. J. A. AValker had each donated a' debenture of £5. Mr. Neale had also presented a trophy for competition among the colts. Eight colts had been enrolled since the beginning of the season.
