LEVIN HOME ANNUAL TEA
On Thursday next the annual gift tea of the Levin Memorial Home will be held. The home does a valuable work in maintaining and training girls of from three years to sixteen years of age, and is having a hard struggle to carry on its mission., Many annual grants and donations have been suspended, and its income is depleted in many other ways. The hard-working committee which administers the home regrets having to curtail many necessities in the way of food and clothes, and it is hoped that the gift tea will be liberally patronised by the public. The opening will be performed by Lady Luke, one of the home’s oldest and most valued friends, and it will take place at the home grounds, Britomart Street, Berhampore. There will be many stalls for the sale of cakes, needlework, sweets and flowers, and the girls will provide an entertainment. The ladies of the committee of the home solicit the support of everyone interested in an institution which is doing great social service.
