COSTER BALL
Nga Tawa Old Girls A novel presentation was the Coster Ball held by the committee of the Nga Tawa Old Girls’ Association at Palmerston North recently, when there was a very large attendance of old pupils and their friends. The costumes were appropriate to the occasion, and the array of feathers and “pearlies” caused considerable interest. The “decorations" consisted of cabbages, onions, and carrots, while supplies of toffee apples, chewing gum, and other such delicacies were available at a stalk A coster cart filled with rOasted peanuts and fruit was taken round by two realistic “ ’Arriets,” and supper was served in approved coster style. The committee consisted of Mrs. A. E. R. Joblin, and Misses M. Mac Lean, B. Mcßae, R. Gillies, M. Akers, and the secretary, Miss P. Abraham.
