BASKETBALL CLUB DANCE
To Mark Close of Season As a “wind up” of the season, members of George and Doughty’s Basketball Club held an enjoyable social and dance in the Mokoia Hall, Fifeshire Avenue, last Thursday evening. The hostesses were Mrs. J. George and Mrs. C. Winspear, and the committee responsible for the success of the gathering comprised Misses J. Withlngton (lion, secretary), M. Taylor (captain), E. Riddle, P. McFadyen, J. Rowe, M. Jacobsen, G. Hobman, O. Lee, C. Donovan, and O. Kemp. During the evening items were rendered by Miss Nancy Rabe, exhibition of tap-dancing; Mr. Billy Hart, songs at the piano; and Mr. Southern Colledge and partner, exhibition of ballroom dancing. Music was provided by the Pennsylvanians. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. J. George, Mr. and Mrs. O. Winspear, Mr. and Mrs. J. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. R. Wearne, Mr. and Mrs. O. Mirfln, Mr. and Mrs. G. Gill; Misses Inkster, O’Malley, Thomson, Stewart, Ussher, King, E. Taylor, Lundoii, Parker, O’Sullivan, Wearne, Dino, Williams, Davis, Minnis, Cavell, Davis, Goff (2), Barn, Hogan (2), Beaton, Clark; Messrs. Milligan, Ryder, Whiteford, Parlane, Tonks, Lawson, Evernden, Thompson, Mehaney, Green, Hyland, Thompson, Brown Ryan Hawkins, Jacobsen, Nash, Guntrip, Holmes, Cranston, Cole, Turner, Kane, Goodwin, Taylor and Robertson. ■
